BOH Hearing: Geothermal Wells' Setback From Water Well, Carmichael Way

Public Hearing Notice
Under the authority granted under Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 111, Section 31, the Groton Board of Health will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, October 19, 2020 at 7:00 PM virtually via Zoom to consider the application for the following variances from the Local Well Regulations submitted by Skillings & Sons, Inc. on behalf of Caitlin and Virgil Vaillancourt:
     1) Chapter 330, Section 330-12 Geothermal Wells.
The applicant is requesting a variance to setback requirements for closed loop geothermal boreholes. The setback being focused on is the distance to the drinking water well. A variance of 25’ to the water well is being requested to allow for the installation of two 510’ deep closed loop geothermal holes. The property is located at 53 Carmichael Way.
     Copies of the proposed variance request are on file in the Board of Health’s office in Town Hall.
