Twinkling lights of Prescott Common

When Groton Woman’s Club began their annual decoration of swags and lights on the Minutemen Common in front of First Parish church, something was missing: The tree in the Common that was draped with lights for the holidays was dying and had been removed. With no tree to adorn with lights, Groton Woman’s Club member Berta Erickson suggested lighting trees on Prescott Common. She received permission from BoS and got major assistance from GELD. The twinkling lights of Prescott Common [above] now provide a welcoming gateway to town center. Thanks, Berta, for a great idea.
