Water Communion & Backpack Blessing at First Parish Church of Groton

Water Communion: All are welcome to this service, Sunday, September 8, 10 AM, beginning the new church year and the new season. Bring a little bit of water with you to help us create our homemade holy water for the year ahead. There is still time for one more visit to the ocean or a local lake, river or pond! The service is for all ages and childcare for babies and toddlers is also provided.
Backpack Blessing: At 11:30 AM, following the service September 8 service, on the common in front of the church. Weather permitting, we will gather outside on the common to bless backpacks, lunch boxes, book bags, brief cases, laptops, paintbrushes, sewing machines, surveying equipment or any other tools of work! This event is for all ages and a fun way to set in- tentions for the year ahead and remember our deepest hopes and highest aspirations as we set off for school and work. All ages are welcome.
