Fuel Assistance
Dear Editor,
Because of federal cutbacks, the amount being given in fuel assistance is considerably less this year although most fuel prices have increased greatly. Many people that have received fuel assistance have already run out and desperately need additional assistance. Others are keeping their heat dangerously low. If you would like to donate to help Groton residents in need of fuel assistance, make checks payable to: Friends of the Groton Elders, P. O. Box 289, West Groton, MA 01472, Memo: "Fuel Assistance". Donations will go only to those residents that have already used and/or run out of their Low-Income Home Energy Assistance (LIHEAP). If you, or if you know of a Groton resident in need of fuel assistance, please call the Groton Senior Center to set up an appointment to complete a new application or apply for additional assistance at 978-448-1170. All information remains completely confidential.
Sincerely,
