LETTER: Positive Leadership & A Diplomatic Approach

As a small business owner for 35 years, I have learned the importance of judging character in my employees. Some of these qualities of character include: integrity, style and diplomacy, along with the ability to focus on problem solving with both short and long term solutions.
Since she was elected to the Select Board three years ago, Becky Pine has clearly demonstrated her strengths in these areas. Becky’s skills have added a refreshing change, helping to neutralize personality conflicts and antagonistic behavior that have existed in previous years. Her style is a thoughtful and diplomatic approach when solving problems, rather than emotional and confrontational.
These qualities contribute to a highly functioning Board. This is evident with the Select Board‘s remarkable work as they continue to meet the challenges of keeping the Town safe during the Coronavirus shutdown.
Over the 41 years that I have known Becky, I have observed her dedication to our town in multiple roles, including Groton-Dunstable School Committee, overseeing construction of our first Middle School, leadership in First Parish Church, and strong support for Groton's arts and environmental organizations.
Her positive leadership on the Select Board has benefited our Town in many ways. This is also an historical time for the Board, being the first time in our history with two women, contributing to the diversity in town government.
It is important to keep Becky Pine on the Select Board.
“We have more to accomplish, moving forward together.“
Louis DiMola
Treasurer, Committee to Re-Elect Becky Pine
