LETTER: Suggestion For Groton From Nashua

I am sending the Groton Herald this letter because our program may be of interest to your town, especially with all the new restaurants popping up.
Grow Nashua is a local business that allows for schools, business, and the Nashua community to participate in community vegetable farming. Grow Nashua also collects food waste to make compost.
Grow Nashua is making a green impact in our city. By collecting food waste it removes this from the Nashua landfill and turns it into compost. This compost is either given back to citizens for their garden or is donated to one of the many community gardens throughout the city. The removal of food waste from landfills reduces the amount of greenhouse gasses in the air. Local support of community gardens also teaches the importance of growing your own food and how a town can unite to do this. Grow Nashua is encouraging all members of the city to reenter nature.
Grow Nashua is a thriving local business that is making a green impact citywide. Is this an idea that would work in Groton?

Sincerely,
Megan Pardoe
