LETTER: There Is No Planet ‘B’ Where Are You? What Are You Doing?

To all Groton young adults and youth:
Where were you? When will you make your voice heard? When will you start standing up in the fight on Climate Change?
I took the time to attend Senator Markey's Town Hall meeting in Acton last Sunday night on Climate Change and the Green New Deal. WHERE WERE YOU? Of the 800 to 900 people in attendance, I counted less than 10 people under the age of 50. Two teens actually had the courage to stand and ask good questions on the way forward.
WHEN WILL YOU MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD? In my youth I took a stand against the injustice of the Vietnam war. Yes there were repercussions for those of us that did. Maybe today's youth owe our generation some thanks for the elimination of the military draft. The current Federal Administration’s lack of leadership for the stewardship of planet Earth is to quote Senator Markey; 'an existential threat to the survival of our species', WHEN WILL YOU START STANDING UP IN THE FIGHT ON CLIMATE CHANGE?
I am old, near the end of my journey here, I do what I can to reduce my carbon footprint, in the hopes that my Grandchildren will live to see better days.
There is no Planet ‘B,’ Where are You? What are you doing?
