Stay Strong & Wash Your Hands

During these trying times I want to assure everyone that the Town of Groton Select Board and Town Manager are doing all that we can to protect citizens’ health and communicate with our community.
The Town of Groton webpage (www.grotonma.gov), Commonwealth (www.mass. gov) and the Center for Disease Control (www.cdc.gov) remain reliable sources for information as we move forward. Please check these sites for updates and to confirm information you may hear on social media and elsewhere. At this point we really don’t know how long current controls will last or how much more restrictive they will become.
The Select Board is scheduled to meet (via digital methods) on Monday night. Comments in advance can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Council on Aging and the Groton Dunstable Regional Schools have been extremely responsive and moved to ensure that their communities are receiving assistance. Meals and regular check ins are being provided to seniors. Some students have borrowed computers and food is being provided to students who typically receive free and reduced priced lunches. While we are working to maintain social physical distance it is more important than ever to take care of ourselves and one another.
Stay home and encourage friends and family to do so as well – this is not the time for playdates and gatherings, even with just a couple of people.
Check in with friends and family, wave to neighbors on your daily walk, schedule activities with household members and be kind to workers when you must venture out for groceries or medications. Together we will weather this difficult time and will once again meet on the playing fields, in our fields and at our local businesses.
Stay strong and wash your hands,
Chair – Groton Select Board
