School Committee Announces Five Candidates for Interim Superintendent
The School Committee will conduct a search for a permanent superintendent to replace outgoing Joe Mastrocola during the coming year. While they are doing that the district will be headed by an interim superintendent. There are five candidates for the interim job, all with superintendent experience. They are: Anthony Bent [Shrewsbury], George Frost [Acton, Ayer], Mary Jennings [Groton-Dunstable, Souhegan Valley, N.H.], Paul Livingston [Littleton] and Malcolm Reid [Boxboro and Ayer].
Jennings was added to the finalist list after four candidates were first identified. Jennings served five years as superintendent of Schools at Souhegan Valley in New Hampshire and also serves as Superintendent of Groton Dunstable Schools for 10 years, from 1996 - 2006. Malcolm Reid was a teacher at Groton-Dunstable.
Interviews will begin May 15 at $:00 PM at the High School. The interviews will be conducted in open session. The public is invited but will not be allowed to comment.
