Barbara Ann McLaughlin

Barbara Ann McLaughlin, 86, of Groton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 1, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late Dennis J. McLaughlin.

 Born in Woburn on December 29, 1931, a daughter to the late Norman and Angela (Angelo) Grigg, Barbara was raised and educated in Woburn and graduated from Saint Charles High School and went on to attend the Georgetown Visitation school in Washington D.C.  She married Dennis on May 1, 1954.  While living in Woburn they had a very large family. 

Barbara loved all the small things in life but her biggest joy was spending time with family.  She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. Her devotion to her faith carried her throughout her life. Her presence was very uplifting. Barbara loved everybody especially children. If ever there was something to do, she wanted to be doing it! 

Along with her husband, Barbara is predeceased by her siblings Kenneth Grigg, Elinor Grigg and Edythe Landry. She is survived by her seven children: Mary McLaughlin of Brookline, NH; Ann McLaughlin of Marlborough; Barbara Somers of Alexandria, NH; Sharron McLaughlin of Woburn; Patricia Harris of Lynnwood; Dennis Griggs of North Woodstock, NH; and Daniel Griggs of Morrisville, VT.  She is also survived by her brother Robert Grigg and sister Francis Marra, as well as 14 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services for Barbara are private.
