Joseph Brooks Minifie

Joseph Brooks Minifie, lovingly known as  Joe, died on Saturday, May 25, 2019. He was born in Groton on June 24, 1986. He attended the Groton School, Trinity College in Hartford, CT, and earned a PsyD in Psychology from Old Dominion University, Virginia Consortium Program. He completed his clinical internship at Vanderbilt-Veterans Affairs Consortium in 2015 and a Postdoctoral Fellowship at VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System in 2016. He was a staff psychologist working with returning combat Veterans until he began his private practice in August 2018. As a professional, he always strived to bring comfort to those in pain and encourage people to see the best in themselves with excellent clinical intuition that healed those he worked with. He was highly respected among all his colleagues for his insight, compassion, and intuition.

Joseph loved football and was an avid fan of the New England Patriots. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He is remembered for the way he would light up the room and put anyone he talked to at ease. He put smiles on faces and brought laughter wherever he went. He is survived by his wife, Megan; his son, Jonathan (Jude); his daughter, Annie Grace; his brother Samuel; and his mother Mary. His father was the late Jonathan Minifie .

Services will be held at St. George’s Episcopal Church, Belle Meade, TN on Thursday, June 6 at 11:30 a.m. Additionally, there will be a service in Boston on  Saturday, June 15 at 3 p.m. at Emmanuel Church, 15 Newbury St. Burial will be at the Groton Cemetery Sunday, June 16 at 4 p.m. All are welcome.
