Obituary: Eugene T. Fitzpatrick

Eugene T. Fitzpatrick, 97, of Groton died on May 14, 2016 at Apple Valley Center, in Ayer. He was born in Woodhaven, NY on February 3, 1919, son of the late Hugh and Frances (Steiner) Fitzpatrick and was the husband of the late Hedwick Fitzpatrick. He grew up in the suburbs of New York City and worked various jobs before serving in the U.S, Army during WW2 where he was a Staff Sergeant and was the head of a Gun Battery. After the War he married his wife in 1946. He then worked for Western Electric as an installer for most of his life. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and was active in the Veterans Administration.

Mr. Fitzpatrick is survived by 2 sons, Michael Fitzpatrick of Groton and Daniel T. Fitzpatrick of Yorktown, NY, a brother Gerard Fitzpatrick of Middleburg, NY and 5 grandchildren, Laura, Kara, Kathleen, Sean and Kevin Fitzpatrick.
