Obituary: Francis L. Powers, Jr.

Francis L. Powers, Jr., 75 of Littleton and Centerville died at Cape Cod Hospital on Monday, February 6, 2017 with his family by his side. He was the husband of Pauline R. (Lemire) Powers.
 
He was born on May 3, 1941 in Boston to the late Francis L. and Margaret Leary Powers. He graduated from Groton High School, class of 1960, and married Pauline in 1967. June 2017 would have been their 50th anniversary.

Francis worked in the purchasing office at Warren Communications in Littleton for many years. Later he worked at Integral Data Systems in Nashua, NH, also in the purchasing department.
 
In 1991 he received an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Middlesex Community College. During this time he was working for the Internal Revenue Service at Cross Point, in Lowell. He continued his education and received an MBA from Fitchburg State University.

Francis was an avid history enthusiast and was especially fond of the 19th and 20th century periods.

He retired in 2001 and enjoyed spending winter months in Bonita Springs, Florida and summers on Cape Cod.

Along with his wife Pauline, he is survived by his daughter Barbara Marr of Boothbay Harbor, ME, and his sister-in-law Joanne Lemire of Concord. He was predeceased by his sister Carol Ann, and brothers David and Richard Powers.

Family and friends will gather for visiting hours Friday, February 10, from 10-11 a.m. in Badger Funeral home, 347 King St. Littleton. His funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury.
