Degrees and Honors for Local Residents

Groton and Dunstable residents have earned degrees and honors at a dozen colleges and universities around New England this spring.

DEGREES

Clarkson University

Bridget Marie Fortier of Groton received a bachelor of science degree in environmental engineering from Clarkson University, Potsdam, NY in May 2019. The ceremonies included several awards and a surprise guest speaker, NY Sen. Chuck Schumer.

University of Maine

Jennifer Marguerite Goulding, GDRHS 2015 has graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Maine, Orono with a Bachelor of Science degree with High Honors in Nursing.

Grove City College

Austin Latario of Groton is one of 511 seniors to earn their degree from Grove City College, Grove City, PA on May 18, 2019. Latario earned a Bachelor of Arts degree English and Secondary Educucation Certification.

Hamilton College

Jared Belsky of Groton received a bachelor of arts degree from Hamilton College, Clinton, NY, on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at the Commencement ceremony concluding the college's 207th year.

University of Vermont

Brittany Belanger of Dunstable graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience during commencement ceremonies on May 19, 2019, at the University of Vermont, Burlington, VT.

Gettysburg College

Katherine Horrigan of Groton graduated from Gettysburg College, Gettysburg, PA, on May 19, 2019, with a BS degree.

Lasell College

Lasell College Honors Class of 2019 at 165th Commencement Ceremony

A record number of graduate and undergraduate students at Lasell College were awarded degrees on Saturday, May 11, 2019 in a ceremony featuring remarks from Massachusetts Congressman Joseph Kennedy III.

Emily Harrington of Pepperell graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Event Management.

William Stewart of Groton graduated with a BA in Communication.

Tufts University

Alexander von Campe of Groton graduated from Tufts University on May 19, 2019 with a degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE), Magna Cum Laude during a university-wide commencement ceremony that featured an address by award-winning actress and activist Alfre Woodard.

Curry College is pleased to announce that Julia Moore of Groton received a BS degree at Commencement Exercises that took place at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts on Sunday May 19, 2019.

Nicole Kessler of Groton has been named to the Dean’s List at Becker College for the spring 2019 semester. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Design, Graphic Design Concentration.

Rebecca Stark of Groton has been named to the Dean’s List at Becker College for the spring 2019 semester. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Science, Pre-Veterinary Concentration.

Academic Excellence and Leadership Awards

Students were recognized for academic excellence and leadership at Becker College's annual Academic Awards Ceremony. Rebecca Stark of Groton received the Pre-Veterinary award. Stark is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Science, Pre-Veterinary Concentration.

The following students have been named to the dean's list at Bates College for the winter semester ending in April 2019.

Willy Anderson of Groton, Mass. Anderson, the son of Mr. Harold W. Anderson and Ms. Cola G. Parker of Groton, Mass., is a 2015 graduate of Groton School. He is a senior majoring in environmental studies and politics at Bates.

Trevor Fry of Groton, Mass.. Fry, the son of Gretchen M. Hummon of Groton, Mass., is a 2015 graduate of Groton School. He is a senior majoring in politics and French and Francophone studies at Bates.

Alex Platt of Groton, Mass.. Platt, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter H. B. Platt of Groton, Mass., is a 2017 graduate of Groton-Dunstable Regional High School. He is a first year majoring in rhetoric, film, and screen studies at Bates.

Roger Williams University

Dean's List

Select students have been named to the Spring 2019 Dean's List at Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I. Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a GPA of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean's List that semester.
