ISLAM in America Lecture Series at GPL
Shua Khan Arshad will lead 3 timely lectures in May at Groton Public Library. A member of Groton's Interfaith Council, Ms. Arshad is a practitioner and advocate for intercultural and interfaith education, dialogue, and awareness. She has taught and coached in various capacities and disciplines over a span of 15 years in Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and the United States.

The lectures are:
• Commonalities among Jews, Christians and Muslims, Tues, May 10, 7-8:30 pm. Learn about the commonalities of Abrahamic faiths and the various laws that the three faiths share.
• Understanding Islam, Thurs, May 12, 7-8:30 pm. This lecture will help you to understand Islam, and the Qur’an, the prophets, women in Islam, and the Shariah. We will also discuss common misunderstandings and misconceptions about Islam.
• Documentary & discussion - Muslim Americans: Fact vs. Fiction, Thurs, May 26, 7-8:30 pm. Find out how Muslims contribute in making America successful and a better place. Watch and discuss film, "American Muslims: Fact vs. Fiction."
