OPEN MEETING Law Training

Selectman Chairman Joshua Degen said that the 'live' Open Meeting Law training was well received by the approximately 85 town officials - both elected and appointed - who attended the training session. Chairman Degen noted that OML legislation changed substantially in 2010 with new and important provisions that needed to be understood by all officials.

At the urging of Selectman Petropoulos, the Board agreed that all officials who did not attend the OML training will be asked to sign up for and attend 'official' screenings of the video taped training. The 'official' OML screenings were instituted to ensure officials actually receive the training rather than simply say they reviewed the video. Taking part in the training is mandatory.
