of potential with several new talented players on the team with numerous strengths.
Comments: This is a rebuilding year for us for sure. Carolyn Mullins, Emma Kenney, Sydney Barlow, and Katie Eberhardt have all stepped up and have shown great leadership so far. Boys Varsity Soccer

in District Draw, defeated #7 Algonquin 1-0, lost 6-2 to Marlboro in Quarter-finals. League: Midland Wachusett

Comments: “Team goal is to finish in the top four in Div. 1 Central-Mass by taking the next step as a program and earning a spot in the district semi finals in November. We play a difficult schedule opening with Algonquin, Westford and Westborough, but with a good core or returners, you should see some great soccer in Groton again this fall. The team has some positive strengths and also some weakness but the group seems bonded together and ready for the challenge.”

Comments: “I am very excited about this group. We have an exceptionally strong returning core. I have coached most of the girls during all three years of my coaching seasons thus far at GD. Great senior leadership, returning team MVP Jillian Van Pelt, sr. and returning leading scorer (Jackie Gervais, soph.), returning top defender (Anna Griffiths, jr) and returning team leader and D1 commit Bianca Resca with limitless potential in goal. I think we will surprise some teams. We have the ability and talent to compete with any team in our league.”

Comments: Really looking forward to this season. Our Senior Leadership has been great so far. Scrimmages against Westford Academy and Lowell Catholic have been encouraging. A lot of new teams on the schedule this season so it is hard to project how the season will go. Our focus as a staff right now is developing depth and staying healthy throughout the season. Season opener: Away at Marlborough, Fri. Sept 13 7:00pm.
