Set scores: 25-19, 25-9, 25-15. Sydney Barlow and Carolyn Mul- lins had 4 and 3 kills respectively. Records: SHS (3-0, 2-0 Mid-Wa- ch A), G-D (0-3, 0-2).
Boys Soccer
• G-D 2, Algonquin 2 Thurs- day, Sept. 5, 2019
Junior Matt Fordham con- verted a penalty kick with eight minutes remaining to pull the host Crusaders (0-0-1) even at 2-2. G-D’s Leo Chavez Lazano scored off a pass from Derek Ca- ruso in the 33rd minute to put GD up 1-0. Charlie Haynes and Zack Fier scored two minutes apart for the Tomahawks (0-0-1) to put the visitors up, 2-1. Keeper Cole Con- nerty played a strong game in goal for GD.
• Westford 2, G-D 2
Matt Fordham converted a pen- alty kick with 12 minutes remain- ing to draw the game even at 2 -2. Westford’s Arpit Rao opened the scoring in the 29th minute for 1-0 lead. Zach Lawerence (Arpit Rao ) made it 2-0 into the break. No quit in this Crusader team. G-D ‘s Simon Chandler sent Chase Her- berich in on a give-and-go and Herberich slid it under Westford keeper Michael Lucente 2-1. Ford- ham converted on a PK awarded after a teammate was fouled in the 18 yard box. Record: G-D 0-0-2; WA (1-1-1).

Goals from Matt Fordham, Alex Castellano, Chase Herberich and the game winner in the 65th minute from Hunter Woolfrey. The win for GD was the team’s first of the season. Record: 1-0-2
Girls Soccer
G-D 0, Algonquin 0
Bianca Resca (13 saves) had an outstanding game in net for the visiting Crusaders (0-0-1). The teams fought to a 0-0 tie against a very good Algonquin (0-0-1) team. Outstanding defense and a solid effort from senior Nicole Tammaro helped the Crusaders to the tie.
Boys Golf
• G-D 28.5, Hudson 25.5
Ethan Loomis carded an even- par 36 at Stow Acres to help the visiting Crusaders (1-0) edge the Hawks (0-3).
• G-D 30, Westborough 24
Ivan Sturm shot even-par 35 for the Crusaders who just squeaked by the Rangers (1-2-1) at Groton CC. Ethan Loomis (37) and Jake Brown (43) were also solid for G-D (2-0).
• G-D 33, Marlboro 21
Ethan Loomis recorded par 35 at GCC to lead Crusaders (3-0, 1-0) past the visiting Panthers (0- 2, 0-2).
