Groton's Lindsay Werner Hits 1,000 Points for Merrimack College

Senior Captain Lindsay Werner (Groton-Dunstable '15) of Division 2 Merrimack College reached her 1,000 points in their home game against St. Anselm's on Saturday the 9th. Lindsay is the first female G-D basketball player to go on to play collegiate basketball and achieve this 1,000-point milestone. She was clearly comfortable on the court from the opening tap, hitting her second 3-pointer at 6:25 into the first quarter fulfilling her dream of achieving 1,000 points in her collegiate career, as Merrimack jumped out to an early 13-6 lead and never looked back, with Lindsay scoring 11 first-quarter points. Merrimack went on for an easy win over St. A's 74-55. Lindsay lead all scorers with 21 points, with 8 rebounds, 8 of 13 field goals and 5 of 7 3-pointers. (Lindsay is third in from the left, bottom row)
