The recent renovation work performed by Diamond Athletic Turf Inc. on the GDRHS baseball field was completed on Monday, March 23. The work renovating the High School Baseball Field involved removing the existing infield that had grade problems as well as severe grub damage. The infield and turf specialists added 70 tons of new loam and 45 tons of new infield clay.   After laser grading the complete infield, new sod was installed.
The field will be ready for play on April 1, 2020.
"We started the baseball field in late November because the infield grass was in bad shape, " shared Groton Dunstable Athletic Director Matt Ricard. Diamond Athletic Turf started then but the early snow put a halt on it. They resumed the work last week with the clay and this week with the sod.
"We are very excited. Thanks to the funding by the Booster Club, we will be installing a flag pole in the island near the Spirit Rock. It should look great! Even with the season delayed we are trying to get everything ready for our kids," concluded Ricard.
