On Saturday, December 21 Fort Devens Museum will host a program in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge. A 1 p.m. program highlighting the history of the Battle and some of the local monuments dedicated to those who fought there. Shirley resident, Joe Landry, will talk about his own experiences in the Battle of the Bulge and his recent trip to visit some of the same places he served 75 years ago.
Groton History Center's recent Open House featured its collection of treasures from Groton's past, and a host of supporters and volunteers who have had a hand in the restoration and refurbishment of the Center over the past several years. Incident With Young Girl at Duck Pond Triggers Cooperation Between Groton Police, Littleton & Federal Marshalls Leading To Arrest On Federal Warrant
Groton Fire Department posted this December 1 photo taken at approximately 8:45 pm of Shirley Fire Department responding to a chimney fire at a residence on Groton Road. On arrival they confirmed that there was an active chimney fire most likely caused by an excessive buildup of creosote in the chimney. The fire was quickly extinguished and there was no damage to the residence or occupants.
