Groton History Center Holiday Open House 2019

Come, join us at the historic Boutwell House on Main Street for music, a cookie swap and good cheer on Sunday, December 15 from 2-4pm. The home of Governor George Boutwell will be beautifully decorated for the season with a dining room table loaded with cookies, hot cider in the kitchen and Indian Hill Music School students in the parlor playing music.

Guided Trail Hike: Groton Town Forest to Fitch's Bridge.

We will start in the scenic Town Forest, with eskers, kettle holes, unusual bogs, hemlock groves, and more. Then we will use Groton's extensive trail system thru a string of conservation lands to end at Fitch's Bridge over the beautiful Nashua River. About 2 hours, moderate pace. Meet at Fitch's Bridge (42.62549N 71.60886W). Park by either end, but note that cars can't cross.

OBITUARY: Maureen Theresa Foley

Maureen Theresa Foley, age 69 of West Groton formerly of Westford passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at her residence at Rivercourt Apartments in West Groton.
     Born in Dorchester on December 15, 1949 she was the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Norma M. (Foley) Foley, she was raised and educated in Dorchester graduating from St. Thomas High School.
