What Is Smart911, How Do I Use It, & How Can It Help Me?

There is a new emergency notification system available to Groton residents that provides up to the minute information in a number of areas including public safety alerts. It can also provide emergency responders with critical information in order to reach a call location quickly and assess a medical need, or a safety issue.

For the Birds

Judi Berger, (center) an expert on feeding birds for the past 26 years and a student of Ornithology at Cornell University, presented a roadmap for feeding birds in all four seasons to Groton Garden Club. She discussed what types of food birds prefer during different times of the year, and myths about feeding birds year round.

Love Your Dog Day

Livingston Taylor to Perform in Benefit for GD Chamber Choir

Incomparable singer-song-writer Livingston Taylor will return to the area to perform in a benefit concert supporting the award-winning Groton-Dunstable High School Chamber Choir. The event takes place April 5 at Devens Common Center, 31 Andrews Parkway, Devens. All proceeds will support the Chamber Choir’s upcoming trip to Spain, where they will perform by invitation at the Royal Palace in Madrid and other legendary venues.

Groton Interfaith Council to Show "Selma"

Groton Interfaith Council is initiating a series of films to foster understanding. The inaugural film will be “Selma,” shown in honor of Dr. Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. on Saturday, March 7, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. The screening will take place at the Groton (Senior) Center, 164 West Main St. There is no charge. Light snacks and desserts will be served.
