Animal Control

Groton Animal Control responded to 21 calls during the month of January.
Following is a breakdown of the calls:
• Loose, missing or found dogs: 13 (leading the pack in numbers, no pun intended)
• 2 Porcupine incidents
• 2 Bobcats, 1 sighting

EDITORIAL: Release Secret Boynton Meadows Documents, Reanimate Town Affordable Housing Initiatives

Townspeople have the right to understand how $400,000 of taxpayer money was lost on the Boynton Meadows project. The Community Preservation Committee has exhausted their authority to demand the documents release by the Affordable Housing Trust. Now it is time for the Select Board to step in and resolve this impasse and secure release of the Secret Boynton Meadows financial documents.

Clark Tournament

The prestigious 81st Annual Clark Tournament will be held at Clark University in Worcester on February 16 – 22. The Tournament will feature sixteen Central Massachusetts teams selected and seeded through eligibility criteria and provides a quality experience for players, coaches and fans.

G-D Crusaders Hockey Sets 9th Annual Military Night to Honor Veterans

The Groton-Dunstable Crusaders Hockey team has set the date for their 9th annual Military Night. This year’s game will be held on Wednesday February 19, at the Groton School hockey rink. The pre-game tribute to the communities’ veterans will begin at 6:45 p.m. The Crusaders will play the Auburn Rockets and proceeds from the night will benefit the Sgt. William J. Woitowicz Memorial Fund.

College Notes: Ben McEvoy

Dunstable’s Ben McEvoy (GDRHS 2017) was recently added to the roster of the UMass-Lowell Riverhawks Men's Hockey team. Ben has been working with the team as a goaltender over the last couple years and now finds himself playing in the top conference in the country, Hockey East. The Riverhawks are currently ranked 11th Nationally. Ben is a junior majoring in Business Finance and Analytics.
