New Eagle Scouts

On Saturday September 12, Groton Troop 3 honored three new Eagle scouts: Jeremy Fish, Alex O’Brien, and Bryce McKinley (pictured left to right). The Eagle Court of Honor ceremony was held outside at the gazebo on Town Field. Photo courtesy of Troop 3.

The Fruits of Our Labors

The wild grapes have ripened, filling the edge habitats with a heavenly September aroma. Henry David Thoreau wrote, “Depositing them in the bows of the boat, they filled all the air with their fragrance, as we rowed along homeward against the wind, as if we were rowing thro’ an endless vineyard in its maturity. Every now and then, when their perfume wafted to me in the stern, I thought that I was passing some richly laden vine on the shore.”

She Supports Programs & Issues I’m Most Concerned About

I will be voting for Deb Busser for State Representative on November 3. An obvious reason is that she supports the programs and issues I'm most concerned about -- environmental conditions, expanded health care coverage, well-funded public schools, and public transportation. All are necessary for a strong, safe, and just community, and all offer immense potential as job-creators as well.
