Town Manager Mark Haddad advised the Select Board that the latest results regarding Covid-19 places Groton “in the green area. We have had 16 cases in the last 14 days, and this continues moving higher.”

Nine months into a global pandemic that has stubbornly resisted efforts to control its spread, there are still no confident answers as to how people can wade through the pandemic or how businesses can continue and survive after weeks of a shutdown and months of restrictions.

EDITORIAL: How We Expand Affordable Housing Makes All The Difference

It’s time to step back, take a deep breath, and do a deep-think on affordable housing development in our town. Groton is no longer a mid-income exurb, a place where middle-income families can buy a house, educate their children and live a satisfying, "ordinary" life on a median income. Groton is wealthy and rapidly gentrifying.

Winter Parking Regulations In Effect

Police Chief Michael Luth reminds residents and visitors that the Winter Parking Regulations will be going into effect. Article IV, Section 5 of the Town By-Laws prohibits parking on any public way for more than one (1) hour between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 6 a.m. from November 15th to April 15th. Offenders will be issued parking tickets.
