Elaine Velma Johnson

Elaine Velma Johnson of Alton, NH, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022 at Tufts Medical Center at the age of 71. Elaine was a graduate of the University of Maine, Farmington, with a bachelor's degree in Oceanography.

   Born in Westfield, Elaine grew up in Rumford, ME with her loving mother, Glenice Hickson, and maternal grandmother, Velma Freeman, both of whom are no longer with us. Elaine worked for many years for Boston Organ and Piano, enjoying many theater performances, and later worked for Groton Electric for the remainder of her career, until she retired. 

Elaine is survived by her beloved brother, Charles T. Hickson, Jr. of Newton, and his wife, Susanne Paullin; her aunt Elaine Parmenter of Connecticut (and her children, Carol, Jeff and Bruce); her aunt Jeannie Crowley of Connecticut (and her husband John, and their children Katie and Michael); as well as her late Uncle Mel Wing’s wife, Dorothy of Maine (along with their children, Cathy, Scott, Holly, Russell and Becky).

There will be no public service.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
