   In accordance with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, M.G.L Ch. 131, Sec. 40 and the Groton Wetlands Protection Bylaw, the Groton Conservation Commission will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, May 27th, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. to consider a Request for Determination of Applicability filed by Charles Hogan to rebuild a deck within the buffer zone.

   In accordance with the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 40C, the Groton Historic Districts Commission (GHDC) will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 7:30 pm at The Groton Town Hall, First Floor Meeting Room, 173 Main Street, Groton, MA 01450. This meeting will be held to consider the application submitted by Bob Collins, seeking a Certificate of Appropriateness for 186 Main Street, Assessors Map 113-1 to install a two-car garage addition. Copies of the application and supporting materials are available for review by contacting the GHDC via the Land Use Dept, 2^nd floor of the Town Hall.

   The Groton Water Department will begin its annual flushing of the water distribution system on Tuesday, April 29^th, 2025 thru Thursday, May 15^th, 2025. All water main flushing occurs during the daytime hours only. We anticipate the flushing program will take approximately three weeks to complete. You will experience low water pressure and discolored water during the flushing effort and we apologize for this inconvenience. Please be patient with us as we flush the water mains.

   If you experience a prolonged period of discolored water, please run numerous cold water taps simultaneously for 5 to 10 minutes or until it clears up.

This is the time to thoroughly flush your hot water tank.

   The water distribution system flushing program is subject to change without notice and the dates listed below are approximate only!

   Please be sure to call our offices between the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. for the most up to date location of the Flushing Program or check our web site at www.grotonwater.org

   Area 1 - April 29^th, 30^th & May 1^st: Orchard Lane, Schoolhouse Road, Hemlock Park Drive, Chestnut Hill Road; Martins Pond Road Hollis Street, Champney Street, Middle School Complex, Main Street, Lowell Road, Lost Lake Drive.

   Dead- Ends – May 2^{nd &} MAY 5^th: Lost Lake Area, Common Street, Longley Road, Sheple Lane, Chicopee ROW.

   Area 2 – May 6^th, 7^th: Old Ayer Road, Boston Road, Lovers Lane, Elm Street, Pleasant Street, Farmers Row to Broad Meadow, Lawrence Academy Campus, Farmers ROW, Higley Street, Groton School Campus, Shirley Street, Joy Lane, Culver Street, Smith, Dolan Drive.

   If you have any questions during the flushing, specific daily locations or if you are experiencing prolonged periods of dirty and/or discolored water, please contact the Water Department Office during our business hours, Monday 8-7 Wednesday-Thursday 8-4 and Friday 8-1 at 448-1122.
