   In accordance with the provisions of the Code of Groton, the Board of Health held a public hearing on Monday, May 5, 2025, in the Town Hall to consider revisions to the following Chapters of Division 3, Board of Health Regulations.

   At its regular meeting on May 5, 2025, the Board voted unanimously, with all members present, to amend Chapter 307 Solid Waste.

   The amended regulations are available on the Town’s website at: https://www.grotonma.gov/government/boards-and-committees/board-of-health/

   Copies of the amended regulations are on file in the Town Clerk’s office and the Board of Health office at the Town Hall.

   In accordance with the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 40C, the Groton Historic Districts Commission (GHDC) will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 7:30 pm at The Groton Town Hall, First Floor Meeting Room, 173 Main Street, Groton, MA 01450. This meeting will be held to consider the application submitted by Bob Collins, seeking a Certificate of Appropriateness for 186 Main Street, Assessors Map 113-1 to install a two-car garage addition.   In accordance with the provisions of Sections 184-3 and 381-48 of the Code of the Town of Groton, the Planning Board and Tree Warden will hold a virtual public hearing via Zoom on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 7:00 PM, to consider the application submitted by Groton Electric Light Department to remove two (2) public shade trees within the right-of-way of Martins Pond Road.  The trees are located near Pole #48 and Pole #50, between 315 and 337 Martins Pond Road.

   The Groton Water Department will begin its annual flushing of the water distribution system on Tuesday, April 29th, 2025 thru Thursday, May 15th, 2025. All water main flushing occurs during the daytime hours only. We anticipate the flushing program will take approximately three weeks to complete. You will experience low water pressure and discolored water during the flushing effort and we apologize for this inconvenience. Please be patient with us as we flush the water mains.

   If you experience a prolonged period of discolored water, please run numerous cold water taps simultaneously for 5 to 10 minutes or until it clears up.

This is the time to thoroughly flush your hot water tank.

   The water distribution system flushing program is subject to change without notice and the dates listed below are approximate only!

   Please be sure to call our offices between the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. for the most up to date location of the Flushing Program or check our web site at www.grotonwater.org
