In accordance with the provisions of the Code of the Town of Groton, Chapter 198, the Earth Removal Stormwater Advisory Committee will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 6:30 PM in the Town Hall, 173 Main Street, to consider the application submitted by Sergio Valerio for approval of a Limited Stormwater Management Permit for paving an existing driveway, installation of a new asphalt berm, new dry wells, associated drainage and landscaping as shown on the submitted with the application.  The proposed construction is located on Assessors Map 243, Parcel 9, 731 Martins Pond Road

Copies of the application and plan are on file in the Land Use Department in the Town Hall. The Town   of Groton does not discriminate on the basis of disability.  Further, a signed translation of this public hearing will be provided for the hearing impaired upon request by contacting the Planning Board at (978) 448-1105 at least ten days prior to the hearing.

This meeting will be held to consider the application submitted by Jake Penney, seeking a Certificate of Appropriateness for 274 Main Street, Assessors Map 112-84 to repair and/or replace the exterior siding, trim, windows, doors and exterior lights. Copies of the application and supporting materials are available for review by contacting the GHDC via the Land Use Dept, 2nd floor of the Town Hall.

The Groton Water Department will begin its annual flushing of the water distribution system on Tuesday, April 9th, 2024 thru Thursday, April 25th, 2024. All water main flushing occurs during the daytime hours only. We anticipate the flushing program will take approximately three weeks to complete. You will experience low water pressure and discolored water during the flushing effort and we apologize for this inconvenience. Please be patient with us as we flush the water mains.

If you experience a prolonged period of discolored water, please run numerous cold water taps simultaneously for 5 to 10 minutes or until it clears up.

This is the time to thoroughly flush your hot water tank.

The water distribution system flushing program is subject to change without notice and the dates listed below are approximate only!

Please be sure to call our offices between the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. for the most up to date location of the Flushing Program or check our web site at www.grotonwater.org

   Area 1 - April 9th, 10th & 11th: Orchard Lane, Schoolhouse Road, Hemlock Park Drive, Chestnut Hill Road; Martins Pond Road Hollis Street, Champney Street, Middle School Complex, Main Street, Lowell Road, Lost Lake Drive.

Dead- Ends – April 12th: Lost Lake Area, Common Street, Longley Road, Sheple Lane, Deerfield Drive, Allans Trail,

Area 2 - April 16th and 17th: Duck Pond Drive, Hidden Valley Road, Whiley Road, Boston Road, Forge Village Road, Hayden Road, Sandy Pond Road, Robin Hill Road, Quail Ridge Road, Stonebridge / Old Carriage Path, Gilson Road, and Bayberry Road. 

Area 3 – April 18th: Cow Pond Road, Painted Post, Amanda’s Way, and other dead-ends and side streets.
