   The Groton Water Department will begin its annual flushing of the water distribution system on Tuesday, April 29th, 2025 thru Thursday, May 15th, 2025. All water main flushing occurs during the daytime hours only. We anticipate the flushing program will take approximately three weeks to complete. You will experience low water pressure and discolored water during the flushing effort and we apologize for this inconvenience. Please be patient with us as we flush the water mains.

   If you experience a prolonged period of discolored water, please run numerous cold water taps simultaneously for 5 to 10 minutes or until it clears up.

This is the time to thoroughly flush your hot water tank.

   The water distribution system flushing program is subject to change without notice and the dates listed below are approximate only!

   Please be sure to call our offices between the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. for the most up to date location of the Flushing Program or check our web site at www.grotonwater.org

   Area 1 - April 29th, 30th & May 1st: Orchard Lane, Schoolhouse Road, Hemlock Park Drive, Chestnut Hill Road; Martins Pond Road Hollis Street, Champney Street, Middle School Complex, Main Street, Lowell Road, Lost Lake Drive.

   Dead- Ends – May 2nd & MAY 5th: Lost Lake Area, Common Street, Longley Road, Sheple Lane, Chicopee ROW.

   Area 2 – May 6th, 7th: Old Ayer Road, Boston Road, Lovers Lane, Elm Street, Pleasant Street, Farmers Row to Broad Meadow, Lawrence Academy Campus, Farmers ROW, Higley Street, Groton School Campus, Shirley Street, Joy Lane, Culver Street, Smith, Dolan Drive.

   Area 3 – May 8th:  West Street, Whiting Avenue, Hillside Avenue, Fairview Avenue, Mill Street, Gratuity Road, Fitch’s Bridge Road, Nod Road, North Main Street, Riverbend Drive, Wintergreen Lane.

   The Groton Cemetery Association will hold their Annual Meeting on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. at Legion Hall. A Proprietors meeting will be held one half hour earlier at 1 p.m.

   In accordance with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, M.G.L Ch. 131, Sec. 40 and the Groton Wetlands Protection Bylaw, the Groton Conservation Commission will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, May 13th, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. to consider a Notice of Intent filed by Alan Ackerman for the installation of a septic system.

   The subject property is 71-75 Shenandoah Rd (Parcel 131-33).    In accordance with the provisions of the Code of Groton, the Board of Health will hold a public hearing on Monday, May 5, 2025 at 6:30 PM in the Town Hall to consider revisions to the Code of the Town of Groton, Board of Health Regulations: • Chapter 307 Solid Waste. The proposed revisions to the Regulations are posted on the Town’s Website at: https://www.grotonma.gov/government/boards-and-committees/board-of-healt...

   Copies of the proposed revisions to the regulations are on file in the Town Clerk’s office and the Board of Health office at the Town Hall. As required by MGL Chapter 41, Section 10 and 11, there exists one (1) vacancy on the Groton Planning Board. The appointment to fill said vacancy shall be in a joint session with the SelectBoard and the remaining Planning Board Members at a Select Board Meeting to be held on Monday, May 19, 2025, at 6:15 PM in the Second Floor Meeting Room of the Groton Town Hall.

All interested individuals shall complete a Committee Interest Form and submit said form to the Office of the Town Manager by 1:00 PM on Friday, May 2, 2025. The office is located on the second floor of the Groton Town Hall, 173 Main Street, Groton.
