   In accordance with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, M.G.L Ch. 131, Sec. 40 and the Groton Wetlands Protection Bylaw, the Groton Conservation Commission will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, October 8th, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. to consider a Notice of Intent filed by Alan Ackerman for the replacement of an existing retaining wall. 

The subject property is 71 Shenandoah Rd (Parcel 131-33).    There will be a Fall Town Meeting on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 9:00 A.M., Marion Stoddart Building Auditorium, 344 Main Street, Groton, MA.  The purpose of this Town Meeting will be to vote on articles contained in the October 5, 2024, Fall Town Meeting Warrant that can be found on the Town’s website at www.grotonma.gov. Preliminary Subdivision Plan for Residential Compound

423 Old Ayer Road, Assessors’ Parcel 221-20

In accordance with the provisions of Chapter 40A, §§ 9 and 11, M. G. L., and the Code of the Town of Groton, Chapter 218, the Groton Planning Board will hold a public hearing on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 7:45 PM, in the Town Hall, to consider the application submitted by Patricia A. Madigan for approval of a Preliminary Subdivision Plan for a proposed residential compound known as Madigan Hill located at 423 Old Ayer Road (Assessors Map 221, Parcel 20). The proposed subdivision would create four (4) single-family house lots served by the existing driveway, as shown on the plans entitled, “Preliminary Subdivision, Residential Compound, Madigan Hill, Groton, MA” prepared by Dillis & Roy Civil Design Group, dated December 13, 2023.

Copies of the application and plan are on file in the Planning Board office and the Town Clerk’s office in the Town Hall. The Town of Groton does not discriminate based on disability. Further, a signed translation of this public hearing will be provided for the hearing impaired upon request by contacting the Planning Board at (978) 448-1105 at least ten days prior to the hearing.

The Town of Groton is seeking a resident interested in serving as a Member of the Destination Groton Committee.

There is one (1) vacancy. If interested please submit a Committee Interest Form found on the Town Website.

Destination Groton is a five-member committee that is working to engage all Town stakeholders, including the business and non-profit communities, Town leaders, and Town residents to prepare for an increase in visitors to town while at the same time work to preserve its rural small-town charm.  Social Media, IT skills, and Grant writing experience are a plus.
