TOWN OF GROTON

The Town of Groton, Massachusetts, acting through its Town Manager, seeks proposals from qualified architectural, engineering and/or building maintenance/inspection firms to provide a building condition assessment report for the Prescott School, located at 145 Main Street, Groton, Massachusetts, to determine the functional adequacy of the primary facilities in the short and long-term future.  Interested applicants should submit one (1) printed copy and one (1) electronic copy to Mark W. The Groton Electric Light Department (GELD) is accepting bids for the procurement of Distribution Transformers.  The Bid package documents are available by emailing Tammi Lemire at tlemire@grotonelectric.org or calling 978-448-1150.  Bids will be received at the Groton Electric Light Department, 23 Station Avenue, Groton, MA 01450 until Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 1:00 PM.  Bids must be received in triplicate in a sealed, opaque envelope marked “BID FOR DISTRIBUTION TRANSFORMERS”.

This meeting will be held to consider the application submitted by Attorney Bob Collins, seeking a Certificate of Appropriateness for 218 Main Street, Assessors Map 112-94 to add an addition to the rear of the church building. Town Center Overlay District, Special Permit & 

Site Plan Review

In accordance with the provisions of Chapter 40A, §§ 9 and 11, M. G. L., and the Code of the Town of Groton, Chapter 218, the Groton Planning Board will hold a virtual public hearing via Zoom on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 7:00 PM to consider the application submitted by CJS workshop LLC for Site Plan Review and a Special Permit in the Town Center Overlay District.  The proposal is to utilize the existing premises at 25 Station Avenue (former GELD Garages, Assessors’ Parcel 113-56) for logistic turnaround and active storage to support CJS workshop’s expanding business.

Fitch’s Bridge Road RDA

In accordance with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, M.G.L Ch. 131, Sec. 40 and the Groton Wetlands Protection Bylaw, the Groton Conservation Commission will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, January 9th, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. to consider a Request for Determination of Applicability by the Nashua River Watershed Association to restore the riparian zone along the Nashua River. The proposed work includes removal of invasive species and planting of native trees and shrubs. The subject property is located off Fitch’s Bridge Road (Groton Assessor’s Parcel 216-61).
