Marijuana Establishments Buffer Zone
In accordance with the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 40A, §§ 5 and 11, the Groton Planning Board will hold a virtual public hearing via Zoom on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at 7:00 PM, to consider amendments to the Groton Zoning Bylaw, Chapter 218, as proposed by the Select Board. The proposed amendments would bring the Town’s Marijuana Zoning Bylaw in compliance with State Law and State Regulations relative to distance between various establishments.      The Department will consider all written comments on this Waterways application received by within 30 days of the “Notification Date”. Failure of any aggrieved person or group of ten citizens or more to submit written comments to the Waterways Regulation Program will result in the waiver of any right to an adjudicatory hearing in accordance with 310 CMR 9.13(4)(c). The group of citizens must include at least five citizens who are residents of the municipality in which the proposed project is located.

A positive recom- mendation by the CPC will send a proposal to the 2022 Annual Spring Town Meeting where voters will decide whether or not to fund the project from the Town’s Community Preservation Fund. Copies of the complete draft proposals are available by email request to CommunityP- reservation@grotonma.gov.
