Proposed Zoning Amendment 

MBTA Communities 

Multi-Family Overlay District

   In accordance with the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 40A, §§ 5 and 11, the Groton Planning Board will hold a virtual public hearing via Zoom on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 7:45 PM, to consider proposed amendments to the Groton Zoning Bylaw, Chapter 218. The purpose of the proposed zoning amendment is to create a Multi-Family Development Overlay District that complies with the requirements of the MBTA Communities Act.

   In accordance with the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 40A, §§ 5 and 11, the Groton Planning Board will hold a virtual public hearing via Zoom on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 7:15 PM, to consider the application submitted by Yogesh Kumar under the provisions of Groton Zoning Bylaw Sections 218-5.2 Schedule of Use Regulations and 218-5.5 Special Use Considerations.  The proposed use is a wellness studio in the basement unit of the existing commercial building located at 134 Main Street.  The building is located on Assessors’ Parcel 113-9.1.

   The Groton Community Preservation Committee (CPC) will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, February 3, 2025 at 7:00 PM in the 1st floor meeting room of Town Hall, 173 Main Street, Groton, to receive public comments on new Community Preservation Act proposals.  The CPC is seeking input from the public before making its decision on which of the proposals (if any) to recommend to Town Meeting for funding.  Recommendation by the CPC will be made to the 2025 Annual Spring Town Meeting where voters will decide whether or not to fund the project from the Town’s Community Preservation Fund.  Copies of the complete draft proposals are available at the Land Use counter located on the 2nd floor of Town Hall.

 The Town of Groton, Massachusetts invites qualified vendors to submit proposals to provide herbicide treatment of weeds at Lost Lake/Knops Pond. All vendors must submit in conformance with the Request for Proposals documents which will be available in the Town Manager’s Office at 173 Main Street, beginning January 15, 2025. Town Hall is open Mon 8AM-7PM; Tues, Weds, Thurs 8AM-4PM; and Fri 8AM-1PM. This RFP shall be governed by the requirements of MGL Chapter 30B, the Uniform Procurement Act.

Proposals shall be received by 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2025.

The Town of Groton invites responsible and qualified bidders for the purchase of a new 2023, 2024 or 2025 Utility Pick-up Truck. Complete Bid Documents can be obtained through the Water Department offices at 173 Main Street, Groton, MA or by calling the Water Department Office at 1-978-448-1122.

Public Meeting

In accordance with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, M.G.L Ch. 131, Sec. 40 and the Groton Wetlands Protection Bylaw, the Groton Conservation Commission will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, January 28th, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. to consider a Notice of Intent filed by Paul & Karen Benoit for installation of a septic system and driveway within the buffer zone.
