In accordance with the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 40C, the Groton Historic Districts Commission (GHDC) will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 7:30 pm at The Groton Town Hall, First Floor Meeting Room, 173 Main Street, Groton, MA 01450. This meeting will be held to consider the application submitted by Rhonda and Bob Mullins, seeking a Certificate of Appropriateness for 9-11 Elm Street, Assessors Map 112-32 to perform renovations on the outside of the house, including but not limited to, installing a new roof, windows, front light fixture, adding a paved driveway, adding dentil above the first-floor windows, removing storm doors and painting the exterior. The Groton-Dunstable Regional School District School Committee will conduct a Public Hearing on the Preliminary FY 2025 Budget at the Middle School South Performing Arts Center beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. The Groton Community Preservation Committee (CPC) will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 7:00 PM in the 1st floor meeting room of Town Hall, 173 Main Street, Groton, to receive public comments on new Community Preservation Act proposals.  The CPC is seeking input from the public before making its decision on which of the proposals (if any) to recommend to Town Meeting for funding.  Recommendation by the CPC will be made to the 2024 Annual Spring Town Meeting where voters will decide whether or not to fund the project from the Town’s Community Preservation Fund.  Copies of the complete draft proposals are available at the Land Use counter located on the 2nd floor of Town Hall.

As required by MGL Chapter 41, Sections 10 and 11, there exists a vacancy on the Groton Board of Assessors.  All interested individuals shall complete a Committee Interest Form by Wednesday, January 24, 2024. Interested applicants will be interviewed by the Board of Assessors on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., held in the Assessor's office. 

A final appointment to fill the said vacancy shall be in a joint session with the Select Board and the remaining Board of Assessor Members at a Select Boards’s Meeting to be held on Monday, January 29, 2024, in the Groton Town Hall.

The Groton Electric Light Department (GELD) is accepting bids for the procurement of Distribution Transformers.  The Bid package documents are available by emailing Tammi Lemire at tlemire@grotonelectric.org or calling 978-448-1150.  Bids will be received at the Groton Electric Light Department, 23 Station Avenue, Groton, MA 01450 until Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 1:00 PM.  Bids must be received in triplicate in a sealed, opaque envelope marked “BID FOR DISTRIBUTION TRANSFORMERS”.
