NRWA 2015 Annual Meeting Addresses Urban Water Issues
Nashua River Watershed Association invites the public to our 2015 Annual Meeting Thursday, Nov. 12, 7 p.m., at Devens Common Center, 31 Andrews Parkway, Devens. Robert Zimmerman, Jr., Executive Director of the Charles River Watershed Association (CRWA), will give the keynote address on "Urban Water Transformation: Innovation to Protect Water Resources in an Age of Climate Change."
During Bob's tenure, CRWA has become a nationally recognized authority on the science of water in urban watersheds, addressing stormwater pollution, water quality and quantity, habitat protection and restoration, sustainability, the economics of water infrastructure transformation, and climate change mitigation and adaptation. The Charles River and CRWA were the 2011 winners of the International River Foundation's Thiess International Riverprize.
NRWA will present its 2015 NRWA Conservation and Education Awards that evening. This year's Land and Water Conservation Award will be presented to Donnalee Lozeau, the Mayor of Nashua, NH, and John Fisher, a Nashua resident. Susan Edwards, a filmmaker from Pepperell, will be honored with our Environmental Education Award. And our business supporters will be recognized for their valuable role in our ongoing work.
A special thank you to our Presenting Sponsors, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Devens Enterprise Commission, and United Water.
The meeting begins with social time, a chance to mingle with NRWA Directors, NRWA staff, other members and friends. The evening includes dessert, the business meeting (election of officers and directors), awards, and the keynote address. Ticket price $20 per person. As always, the business meeting and speaking portions of the evening can be attended at no charge. Reservations required; RSVP deadline Nov. 4.
