Judith V. (Pothier) Babin, wife of Stephen L. Babin, of Groton, passed peacefully on Saturday, November 13, 2021. Judy was born September 16, 1947 in Southbridge to Armand W. Pothier and Margaret (Tochy) Pothier. Judy graduated from Groton High School, Class of 1965. Judy and Steve were married on Octo- ber 26, 1968. Judy graduated from the Burbank Hospital School of X-ray and worked as an x-ray technician at St. Joseph's Hospital in Lowell. Judy and Steve started their family in Groton, having three daughters that Judy spent her time raising at home.
When Judy returned to the workforce, she was employed by Montachusett Opportunity Council in Fitchburg, an outreach worker for the Town of Groton Council on Aging, and as the Secretary to the Administrative Assistant to the Groton Board of Selectmen.
Judy is survived by her loving husband, Stephen L. Babin of Groton; their daughters, Tracy Lamore, her husband Brian Lam ore, and daughter Abigail Munn of Lunenburg; daughter Michelle Robichaud and her fiancé Jason Agnew, and her sons Robert and Ryan Robichaud of Groton daughter Emily Babin of Nashua, NH; her brother William Pothier and his wife Janet (Demers) Pothier of Townsend; and her faithful canine companion Greta.
Judy is predeceased by her mother and father, her sister Suzanne Ferris-Kainz of Florida, and her brother Ronald Mortensen of Arizona.
Judy also leaves behind her sister-in-law Debra Jefferson and her husband Clarence Jefferson of Groton; and her brother-in-law David Babin and his wife Robin (Durling) Babin of New Ipswich, NH, as well as many cousins,
nieces and nephews and most beloved friends.
Visiting hours will be held in the McGaffigan Funeral Home, 37 Main St. (Rte. 113), Pepperell, MA on Friday, November 19, 2021 from 5 to 8 p.m. Masks are encouraged but not required.
