LETTER: Thanks to 75 Residents for Participating in Town-wide Clean up sponsored by Grange #7

Dear Editor,

A special thank you to all the citizens who turned out for the annual Town wide Litter Clean up, sponsored by Groton Grange #7 in celebration of Earth Day. This year, more than 75 Groton citizens participated in the TLC and were able to pick up more than one ton of trash from our country roads and lanes.

Thanks also to our UPCYCLE IT! participants who brought their wrappers and drink pouches to the TLC drop-off site. So far this year, you have kept 39,533 trash units of non-recyclable items out of the waste stream which have been made into products for our community to reuse.

We are still accepting UPCYCLES at the drop off bins in the cafeteria at Florence Roche Elementary School. Call 978-448-3418 for more information on the UPCYCLE IT! program.

Groton Grange would also like to give our sincere thanks to Roy MacGregor who graciously donated the use of a dumpster and the transport of all that trash. Also, thank you to the Groton Highway Department and Tom Delaney for removing the heavy roadside debris that was lugged in from all over the side streets of Groton.

Groton Grange is delighted that we can continue to offer this program with the help of all the committed volunteers in the Groton community who take the time out of their very busy weekend to help keep our roadsides clean.

Thank you again and we will see you all next year!

Sincerely,

Sally Smith
