Alicia Gentile Selected as Student of the Month at Nashoba Tech
Alicia Gentile of Groton was selected as a Student of the Month for June at Nashoba Valley Technical High School.
Alicia, daughter of John and Kristian Gentile, is an incoming junior in the Health Assisting program who plans to spend her last two years of high school attending Middlesex Community College through the Dual Enrollment program, with a goal of graduating in 2016 from both high school, with her diploma and technical certificate, and from college, with her Associate's Degree.
Alicia is a high-honors student, ranks in the top five percent of her class, and was inducted into the National Honor Society as a sophomore. She was president of the sophomore class and a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society, and she plays flute for the school band. She is also a track-and-field athlete and a cheerleader for the Vikings. She was named an Athlete of the Month in May.
She was nominated for Student of the Month by English instructor Jeremy Slotnick, who wrote: "Alicia is an exemplary student - bright and extremely hard-working. She is one of the most teachable students I have ever come across, always seeking ways to improve. In addition, she is a committed dancer outside of school, a cheerleader and a class officer. Despite these responsibilities, she maintains grades at the top of her class."
