Applewild School eighth graders earned honors in this year’s Central MA Regional History Day competition, which included Central and West Districts, held at Quabbin Regional School March 5. Theme of this year’s contest is Exploration, Encounter and Exchange in History. The class began their research in October and presented projects in a variety of formats including research papers, performances, group and individual websites, documentaries and exhibits. All members of Applewild’s 8th grade class were awarded a 1st, 2nd, 3rd place finish or received a special award in recognition fora facet of their research. Applewild School Students Natasha Ussery (Leominster) and Olivia Ray (Groton) earned an Honorable Mention and recognition by the Worcester Bravehearts for research on Sports in History with their website on Title IX and Women’s Rights.
