Irm Pierce Retires After 30 Years of Service to Groton
Braving yet another winter storm, an enthusiastic crowd turned out Saturday night to honor Police Officer Irm Pierce who is retiring from the Groton Police Department after more than 30 years of service.
Police Chief Donald Palma and members of the Department turned the Function Hall at the Country Club into a real party center with incredible food, beautiful desserts and a major cake, being cut by none other than the honoree of the evening. Surrounded by family and friends, the Police Officers presented Irm with a big comfortable chair and lots of other special gifts.
Chief Palma referred to Pierce as the epitome of "Community Policing. He has been well loved in this town."
