Louise Gaskins Honored

At the Sept. 11 meeting of Groton Woman's Club, Louise Gaskins (R) was given an Honorary Membership by GWC President Nancy Olson for 50 years of membership and service in the Club. 

Louise is well known for her many years of service as an educator. She was a math teacher, guidance counselor, and Principal of Ayer Junior High School.

In her retirement from public school education, Louise has been a receptionist at the MA Teachers Retirement Board, and is currently a Regional Retirement Counselor in Training and Professional Opportunities for MA Teachers Association.

The MTA has named its Human and Civil Rights Award in her honor, The Louise Gaskins Award, and this past year, Louise was honored by the Boston Celtics when she became one of their Heroes Among Us.  Photo by Ellen Hargraves.
