NEW BOOK: Groton Resident Provides Simple, But Sound, Financial Advice

Groton resident Martin Krikorian can't turn you into a financial expert overnight. But his new book, "7 Steps to Becoming a Better Investor," will help clear up many common misconceptions - and avoid many pitfalls - that average wage-earners typically face when trying to manage their money effectively.

The book is a compilation of the most relevant newspaper columns he has written over the past 10 years. "It's written in plain English, in very basic terms," explains Krikorian, owner and founder of Capital Wealth Management in Chelmsford, a financial advisory firm.

"There's a lot of information out there that just isn't true." For example, there is no evidence that anyone can accurately predict the direction of the stock market. Yet there are so-called "experts" who write for major publications and claim they can. The book points out that the predictions of 10 top financial gurus were accurate just 48 percent of the time.

'7 Steps to Becoming a Better Investor" focuses on fundamental strategies for investments and retirement accounts. Topics include:

·Avoiding Predictions

·Managing Risk

·Diversification

·Investing in Index Funds

·Investments to Avoid

·Reaching Your Retirement Goals

There's even a chapter about choosing the right financial advisor. "Most people don't know the difference between a financial advisor and a registered investment advisor (RIA)," says Krikorian, who has more than 18 years of experience in the financial field. For more information about Martin Krikorian and his book, visit www.capitalwealthmngt.com.
