Sarah Campbell sworn in as a member of the North Central Citizen's Advisory Board

April 23 Sarah Campbell of Groton (pictured, right with Elin M. Howe, left, Commissioner of the Dept. Developmental Services (DDS) for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts) was sworn in as a member of the North Central Citizen's Advisory Board, representing families in the eastern part of the region that includes the towns of Ayer, Groton, Shirley and Pepperell. Citizen's Advisory Boards are the conduit through which DDS receives feedback on how well they are serving families of people with disabilities. Campbell said, "I accepted the CAB appointment to better understand how families might access the DDS system because I don't find it to be an easy or intuitive process..." She wants to reach out to families, school officials and legislators who are working with DDS to figure out what's working and what's not.
