Woman's Club "Blankets of Hope" Project

Susan Slade, Past President of Groton Woman's Club, was presented with a handmade quilt by Groton Woman's Club May 16. Susan introduced the Soldiers Angels "Blankets of Hope" project to the Woman's Club several years ago.

Since the Club started making patriotic quilts for wounded soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan, under the leadership of Jan Dillon, almost 400 quilts have been mailed to the hospital in Germany where these soldiers have been sent to be treated. Susan has folded, tied with a yellow ribbon, written a personal note with each of the quilts, and mailed them. 

To thank her for her dedication to this project, the Woman's Club quilters presented her with one of their quilts for her to keep.
