Scott Evans Harker

It is with sorrow that we inform you of the departure of Scott Evans Harker, son of John and Isabel (née Roberts) Harker, on Friday, June 24,2022 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack NH. Scott leaves behind his partner Paula, his beloved children Heather and Nathan, their spouses Zachary Ryan and Tracie Wiles, and grandchildren Helen and Madeleine Ryan.

Born May 5, 1945 in Philadelphia, PA to Quaker parents, Scott moved to Groton in 1978. He fell in love with the town, residing there for almost 40 years before moving to his final residence in Nashua, NH in 2016. He will be remembered for his love of photography, classical music, trips to Rockport, the Groton House of Pizza, and a passion for following severe weather.

Scott was a graduate of the Moses Brown School in Providence, RI (1964), Boston University (1969), and Clark University in Worcester (1985). Some of his proudest accomplishments were as a communications consultant for Digital Equipment Corporation in Marlborough, from 1975 to 1996; an activist for the disabled, advocating for and participating in multiple committees to help serve and protect disability rights in Groton and Nashua; and playing an active role in establishing an archive dedicated to his most beloved professor at Moses Brown.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Scott’s honor to WCRB Classical Radio in Boston.
