NOTICE: Groton Water Dept. Customers
The Board of Water Commissioners voted on April 8, 2014 to institute a "Voluntary" Summer Water Conservation Program for the upcoming spring and summer months. The Board may amend this vote if we encounter dry conditions or if folks use excessive amounts of irrigation water that would put our State Water Permit in jeopardy.
The outside summer Water Conservation Program is voluntary but folks should adhere to the odd/even program whenever possible. Folks with "even" numbered homes water on the "even" numbered calendar days and folks with "odd" numbered homes days should only water on the "odd" numbered calendar days. Monday watering is typically prohibited by all so that our pumps and aquifers have a chance to recover.
The staff at the Groton Water Department closely monitor our pumping and our storage tanks levels daily. Please, try and adhere to the "Voluntary" Water Conservation Program so that a more restrictive watering program is not put in place.
