NOTICES: Country Club New Polling Site For Precincts 2 & 3

After investigating numerous options in both public and private locations, Selectman Stewart Schulman recommended to his colleagues that the Groton Pool & Golf Club become the new polling site for Precincts 2 and 3, beginning in May 2014. The April 1 ballot voting will be held at the current location for Precincts 2 and 3 at the Prescott School.

Schulman said that the Poll Relocation Committee charged with investigating alternative locations narrowed the long list of options to the following sites. In addition to the Pool & Golf Center they looked at Grotonwood, the Town Hall, the Baptist Church and the Prescott School which is the current voting location for Precincts 2 and 3.

"No place is perfect," Schulman said, noting that there will be costs for work that will need to be done at the Pool & Golf Center. The changes include adding two additional handicapped parking spaces, modifying the bathrooms.
