Crusaders End Regular Season With 0-0 Tie

Westford Academy and Groton Dunstable (7-6-3, 5-3 Midland B) played to a scoreless draw in boys soccer on Saturday afternoon. The Crusaders had the advantage throughout the first half while Westford created early chances in the second half. Both teams played well defensively with great play from Anthony Resca, Matt Straw, Patrick Keating and Dan McGuinness.

Seniors Connor Maguire and Jamie Bailey split duties in goal making key stops to preserve the shutout. Grey Ghosts keeper Sam Brewer had a strong game for visiting Westford Academy.

"We had a lot of injuries but we get two key players back, Tim Hilbrunner and Matt Tornaritis," said Coach Sean Wisbey. "Between freshmen, JV and Varsity, we reached our goal of winning 30 games in our soccer program.

And the varsity finished second in the league. That's good stuff," concluded Wisbey.
