Boys Basketball
-Marlborough 56, Groton-Dunstable 33
Whether it was outstanding defense from the No.4 Panthers or a cold night shooting by Groton-Dunstable, the Crusaders (2-4, 0-1), found themselves on the wrong side of a 37-14 halftime score, and fell to visiting Marlborough, 56-33 in Midland B basketball action.
Fueled by offense from Brian Short (13 pts.), Joe Cappadona (10) and freshman Chris Doherty (15), No.4 Marlborough broke the game open in the second quarter outscoring GD 21-5, cruising to a 23 point lead at the half. Shots that usually fall, rolled around the rim and out.
Marlborough freshmen Chris Doherty impressed with his size, quickness and ability to finish.
Junior Danny Howes scored eight points to lead the Crusaders while Parker Blodgett and Tyler LeClerc added six and five points respectively.
Nashoba 63, Groton-Dunstable 49

Girls Basketball
-Notre Dame (Worcester) 57, Groton-Dunstable 42
The Crusaders (4-3) jumped out to an early 17-3 lead but Notre Dame's (4-0) Molly Terry (20 pts. 8 rebs.) including four 3-pointers and Allie Smiley (15 pts.,9 rebs) led the comeback. GD senior Lindsay Werner (17 pts, 4 stls, 3 rebs., 2 assists) , junior Hannah Van Pelt (6 pts, 11 rebs.,3 stls) and Jenna Plausse (9 pts.) were the high scorers for the Crusaders.
Boys Hockey
Algonquin 3, Groton-Dunstable 2
Groton-Dunstable's Robert Hoare (Assist: Nathan Rabbitt, Brandon Proulx) scored in the second and Ryan Dodge (Assists: Jonathan Rivet, Eric Neimoller tallied a goal at 14:00 of the third but Algonguin's Trevor Ryan (28 saves) shut GD out the rest of the way. Nevin Tardiff had 18 stops for the Crusaders (0-4).For the host Tomahawks (4-1) Matt Tozeski (2goals, assist), Brian Ward (1 goal).
Girls Hockey
Leominster 4, Wayland 2
Katie Babineau ( unassisted) , Kaity Delaney (assists: Caitlynn Berube, Rachel Ambrozy), Kristi Anderson (assists: Babineau,Sam Gavin) and Caitlynn Berube (assists: Emma Bragg, Ambrozy) to pace the visiting Blue Devils to the win. GD is in a Co-op program with Leominster.
Coed Swimming
-Tyngsborough (TGD) won the recent swim meet against Northbridge. Kolby Foster won the 200 freestyle (2:02.50) and the 100 breaststroke (1:17.97), while Alexandra Lindgeren won the 100 backstroke (1:05.40), and the 200 individual medley (2:22.93) as the visiting Rams (1-4) fell to the Tigers. Lindgeren, Shannon Dowd, Carly Thibodeau, Kelsey Rudert won the girls 200 medley (2:07.62) for Northbridge.
